Both my maternal and paternal grandmothers, or "ambuyas" as we say in Shona, had a passion for jewelry. They radiated confidence and joy each time they adorned themselves. Despite having financial priorities for their families, their love for accessories remained intact. I will always cherish the bangles I gifted to my maternal ambuya.
